This Dixon MC30 series hot-dipped galvanized steel quick connect Bauer-style (Type B) shank/water quick connect male coupler has a barbed hose ID end, valveless construction, and connects to a female Bauer style (Type B) coupler. The barbed hose ID connection fits inside the hose, has a greater hold than non-barbed connections. The coupler's hot-dipped galvanized steel body resists rust and corrosion. This coupler locks on the male side with a double pin locking lever and comes with a safety pin to prevent the fitting from being accidentally opened. It is used for irrigation and suction line applications, among others, but it is not recommended for use with media that would cause health or environmental concerns if the fitting leaked.

They are made of brass, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and other materials that resist corrosion, pressure, and wear. Hose fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, barbed, push-to-connect, dry disconnect, and others including those based on internationally-accepted specifications. Hose fittings are used in systems such as air compressors, automatic manufacturing operations, aircraft controls, and tire installation in industries including agriculture, mining, road construction, firefighting, and aviation.
